Goodbye Pricketts

I guess it’s true, they really did move

Established in 1945 by Henry Prickett, Prickett’s Nursery has been improving Rincon Valley property for 45 years.  For the past 10 years there has been talk about it closing, and turning the 5 acre property into a shopping center.  Last year Prickett’s established a new smaller location down the road at 5875 Hwy 12 and for the past year the property has sat vacant.  When I walk by, I see homeless camps popping up in the bushes, and trash up and down Sonoma Hwy in each direction leading to and from the vacant property.  Today I saw heavy equipment knocking the structures down.

Its bitter sweet, I’m glad somebody is doing something to abate the nuisance, but I have to say I’m still sad that the nursery moved.  Loved spending a part of my Saturday afternoon picking out roses while my kids played on the play equipment by the fence, or chasing the chickens that roamed free.

I love living in Rincon Valley!  I’ve lived here since 1995 and can’t imagine living in a better north bay community.  Call me today if you’re interested in buying a home in Rincon Valley, or if you’d like to list your Rincon Valley home for sale.
