Vineyards Inn, closing its doors
After 35 years, the Vineyards Inn in Kenwood is calling it quits. They will be serving customers through the end of May. As of this writing, it is unknown what, if anything, will be moving in.
When I first moved to Sonoma County, I loved going to the Vineyards Inn for the best Mexican food and margaritas. I preferred to go in the summer and loved to sit in the atrium with old grape vines growing inside the dining room, framing the tops of the walls. Then, several years ago, the menu changed to Spanish grill and tapas. Still very delicious. I wish the owners well, and will cherish my memories of summer margaritas, chips and salsa, and great fajitas.
But when one door closes, another opens.
Kitchen 707 finally open
Kitchen 707 in the Saint Francis Shopping Center just opened it’s doors for dinner service. I popped in the other evening and enjoyed some very spicy sliders at the bar with a local micro brew. Very tasty. By the end of the hour, I had 2 more sliders, one being a sort of “pulled” tri-tip. Also very good. I was told by a gentleman sitting next to me that there was an arcade where kids could hang out and play while they were waiting for their dinner to come out. All the old classic video games to include Pac Man. I wanted to post a link to their menu but can’t seem to find it online. The menu is posted out in front of the restaurant but I suggest just going in. You’ll find something you like.
